Pre-pre-season training at Stratford RFC
Updated: Jun 8, 2019
I popped down to Stratford to see how the lads were getting along with their self-appointed 'pre-pre-season training' schedule. It turns out, rather well! Despite the pitch being in desperate need of a hair cut and no pressure to attend, there were 15 lads there trying to improve their fitness before the real hard work begins in July 🏃♂️🤼♂️
I put one player through their paces after 6-weeks of self-performed rehabilitation through the off season, after an ACL reconstruction and meniscal root repair. Thankfully he's been doing well and smashed his fitness test, meaning he can return to touch-training. Although we still have plenty more to do before he returns to full contact!
Thursdays theme was 'non-rugby' shirts, so there was many a football jersey about, and our outgoing club captain turned up in full cricket whites 😂 we're always after new players so if you fancy pulling your boots on, pre-pre-season is 7.30pm every Thursday at Pearcecroft, with full pre-season beginning on 2nd July 🏉🙌
